BOLINGBROOK, IL — A Bolingbrook man with an outstanding warrant in connection with a 2022 predatory criminal sexual assault accusation was taken into custody on Tuesday, Bolingbrook Police told Patch.
Police said they were notified in March 2022 by Westmont Police of a reported sexual abuse of a child that happened in Bolingbrook.
The 10-year-old victim was at a family member's home when a family acquaintance touched their genital area, according to Bolingbrook Police. The victim told their father, who picked them up from the home.
The Department of Child and Family Services was also made aware of the incident at the time.
Bolingbrook Police obtained a warrant for Leonardo Gomez-Lara, of Bolingbrook, in August of 2022. Judge Art Smigielski issued the arrest warrant, and bond was set for $1 million, police said.
