An Ohio golfer is recovering after he captured the moment lightning struck him while sheltering during a thunderstorm on a golf course near Cincinnati.
Chris Schiavone was recording video as members of his group tried to free a golf cart stuck in muddy conditions at Pebble Creek Golf Course on Aug. 7 when a bolt of lightning struck nearby, hitting him in the arm and knocking him to the ground. The incident was captured on his cellphone video, which has since spread widely on social media.
Schiavone later said the strike temporarily caused him to lose feeling throughout his body and affected his hearing, but he suffered non-life-threatening injuries and is recovering. He described himself as lucky to have survived.
